Choosing a profile
Classic corrugated suits period and suburban homes and is the most familiar look. Trapezoidal profiles carry water more efficiently and work at lower pitches, which suits modern flat-roofed extensions. Standing-seam and concealed-fix profiles remove exposed fixings altogether, which reduces the number of potential leak points at the cost of a higher price.
The right profile is usually decided by pitch first and appearance second — a profile used below its minimum pitch will leak no matter how well it is installed.
